I have some of the original data for my mums biological parents but my mum was brought up by a family who I have always known as my grandparents. Does anyone have any info on how I can recognise the foster parents of my mum? It's not like they only fostered her for a short while, they got my mum when she was 3 years old and they looked after her all her life until she married my dad. As I have stated, they are part of my family as they are the only grandparents that I really knew from both sides of my family. |

Marie Short answer is you can't. GR only allows you to input one set of parents. To input more you need to set up two family trees by setting up two memberships. If you join Ancestry.co.uk they do allow more than one set of parents. Hope this helps. See FAQ's re adoption and change adoption for foster. Shirley |

I've added my mum twice - it looks like there are two children with the dame name and born on the same day. I can then add both sets of parents, not the neatest way but at least theyre both there. Jo |

What happens if you create your tree in PAF, and then upload the gedcom file? I know PAF allows more than one set of parents (not that I've used it), so I'm curious as to how GR would handle a gedcom that has it.... |
