What about a visit to the Family Records Centre in Islington (Close to Saddlers Wells). There they have all the records of Birth, marriage and death from 1839 and census details for the whole country. The staff are extremely amiable and helpful. There is a canteen area which has machines for sandwiches - but it is much cheaper to take your own! It is best to get there early - particularly at the weekends as it always seems to be very busy.

The genesconnected Genealogist is Anthony Adolph (you can find his info on your GenesConnected home page) He was really nice when I consulted him about employing a genealogist. Best Wishes, -Kate
