Paula, I think there was a problem with e-mails earlier in the week which has now been put right. You could try e-mailing your contacts again just in case they didn't get the original message. However, having said that, it does seem that quite a lot of people don't bother answering. There could be a number of innocent explanations, of course, but I cannot understand why some people do not reply out of courtesy. Just keep trying - you will find more helpful people than the other kind! Good luck, Beryl, Co.Durham.

One of the trials of research I'm afraid. There's nothing you can do to make someone reply to you. I know it's annoying but keep trying, some will never be replied to, and at the end of the day thats their fault not yours, but others will and that's what keeps us going.

I have found that roughly only half the people I contact bother to reply. I give everyone 3 weeks (just in case they're on holiday or something)then delete them from my contacts list. It is annoying, especially if you're pretty sure there would be a connection. I have tried 'just in case you didn't receive my first email....'but still no reply.

I recently sent another message to someone, they answered and apologised for not answering the first - because they did'nt receive it - so keep trying! Good luck Jude
