I know that my great great great grandfather (JOHN LAMBERT BURNS) career went as follows: 1867 - Gunner in the Royal Marine Artillery. 1881 - Ships Corporal. 1888 - Residing at the Coastguard station, Ballycastle, Mayo, Ireland. 1903 - Master-AT-Arms in the Royal Navy. (deceased) He may have had other jobs between these dates but they are all I have. The 1867 info is from his daughters birth certificate, the 1881 is from the census (his wife is listed at wife of ships corporal). The 1903 info is from his daughters marriage certificate. He does not appear on any censuses and I don't know where he was born, when he was born or when he died. Does anyone know where I might find this information? I have been searching for a very long time now and am getting nowhere. Thank you for your time, -Kat |
