Hi I just had a look on the Family Search IGI and there are around 50 people listed on there with the given name Thrift. Both male and female. None with your surname though. Do you know which parish you are looking in or do you had Gabriels mother's name? Lynne

Hi! I have discovered that my great great great great grandfather was THRIFT MCKAY, but I can find no records on the scotlandspeople website for either THRIFT or his son GABRIEL. GABRIEL I know was born in scotland because it says so on the 1881 census. Can anyone tell me if I am searching wrong or if there is anywhere else to search? I had never before heard of THRIFT as a given name. Thank you. -Kat
