Janet, I have had a thought, are your 1901 family old enough to be on the 1881 census, cos you can search for neighbours by clicking on next household. Or you could speculate that the other people are related and play on family search to see if they have the same parents or you could try using the batch number system to see if they were baptised in the same church etc
