Janet Hatton, Actually Janet in those days it WAS common to have 2 "georges", If a child died , the next child of that gender was often called the same name. Even if they didn't die the same name could be used again, with a different middle name and known by that. The danger in family tree reserach is to think like a person in the 21st century. If we read up on the social history and the customs of the period our ancestors lived in, it makes the detective work a bit easier! Sorry I haven't helped anyone this week- but my daughter broke a finger on Tuesday and my youngest son broke his wrist on Monday !
