Barbara no we can't make up the names nowadays - if the father is not the husband of the mother then he has to be present to enable his name to be placed on the certificate - although is suppose he could lie whilst he's there..! == my maternal grandmother born 1893 also lied about her age by about 6 years so much so that when she died the wrong year of birth was put down - she never admitted it - only came to light when freebmd came on line...
