I have my grandfather's registration details from the 1837online site and now wish to obtain his Birth Certificate. Can I get one from the local registry office where his birth was originally registered with just the bare details of name, quarter year, volume number and page number, or must I obtain his Birth Certificate from the General Register Office in London, where I believe you also have to pay a search fee along with the £7 Certificate fee? I have now got as far as I can with online index details, and now need Birth Certificates for parents' details. Help please - I am new to this. |
