new to geenes connected and i was just wondering if any one had any good tips to help me get started i got names and dates for my great grand parents but after that i get stuck any tips any one???

Hi Peter

You can begin with your birth certificate. This will give you your parents names. Might also give you where they were married. The Scottish Birth Certificates give this information. You then look up their marriage. You will then find your grandparents on both sides - Father's mother and father - Mother's father and mother. n Look up their deaths this will give you who registered the death. Another souce of information is the Census. This will tell you who lived in the house. It will also give you names of sibblings, Hope this info is of use to you
