Don't know, other than that is the way the program was written. Unless you provide an option to move it from one parent to the other, it has to be one of them.

I have the 'Who Do You Think You Are' version of Family Tree Maker which I bought in 2006. Can somebody please tell me why, on the descendant chart, the children are ALWAYS fed from the parent that appears on the right hand side of a married couple? Sometimes it is the father who appears on the right but sometimes it is the mother that appears on the right. Why should this be, or is it me that is doing something wrong?
