Ancestry will give you a 14 day free trial

You may find that Ancestry is free to use at your local library

As Reg says both "pinned" thread contain a load of info & are added to on a regular basis

& if you get stuck you can always ask for help

It also worth mentioning, whilst it's great that you've found some contacts, it's always worth checking the info that they have provided

Have you read the two threads which are 'pinned' to the top of this board?

They will give you lots of guidance...........

Oops.........just noticed....this is rather an old thread............probably no longer relevant............

The 1881 census is free on both Ancestry and the LDS website. Some bmd reg'n info is on the freebmd site......but it covers only up to about 1911, and isn't yet complete for even those years. Reg

Hi, If you know the name of one member in a marriage and the first or second name of the other then you can use. www(.)freebmd(.)org(.)uk to find the other member *remove the brackets first* This site can also be used to find births and deaths. If you believe you may have criminals in the family (you'd be suprised) in Warwickshire then this site will help you locate them. warwickshire.gov.uk/corporate/prisoner.nsf/By%20Crime? You could also try contacting local cemetries and trying to find the graves of people in your family as this can sometimes help you locate other members mentioned on the head stones. Best of all, all of these methods are free. Take Care Danielle-Marie x
