on word go on to font and super script for top number sub script for bottom ¼ . . . . . ½ . . . . . . . ¾

Oh Louise, I don't understand that super script!! wher is it on Word?? but I was meaning just in general say if you were typing an e-mail or letter how would you type a quarter,half or three quarter. Betty

Hi Betty A wonderful contact I have in Canada sent me this list of how to write common characters from the numeric keyboard using the alt key - good for using in Hotmail emails. °degree sign=ALT+0176 ¼ one fourth = ALT+0188 ½ one half = ALT+0189 ¾ three fourth = ALT+0190 Hope that helps. Hi Betty Here are some more ¢ cent sign = ALT + 0162 ² square = ALT + 0178 ³ cube = ALT + 0179 ± plus/minus= ALT=0177 £ U.K. Pound sterling = ALT + 0163 I also have the sign for zero percent(‰) square(), Trade mark(™), Registered mark(®),and these two(¿)(Ø). Don't know if you would use those muchbut if so I can send you them too. They are all courtesy of my friend Bob in Canada. Diana

You need to find the Character Map. In XP click on Start, then all programs, then accessories, then system tools and there it is. Open it up & at the top select the font you are using, then scroll down and see if there the fractions you want. Then select and then copy. You can then paste that into your document. I hope this is clear. Ken

Am I doing somehing wrong all I am getting up is a square. With Num Lock on pressing Alt Key and at same time pressing +0188 on Numbers pad on keyboard. I have tried it with Alt+0189 as well and got the same thing. Christine
