Hi Rose Not Sure, Last thing I can see of him is on the census record in 1930 where he was living in Alameda. By this time he was stating his name as Thomas not Samuel Thomas and his age as 51 whereas 10 years previous he stated his age as 46 which was still 3 years amiss? I think that he changed his age etc because I dont think he divorced my great grandmother and hence wanted to remain elusive!! Sue |

Hi All I have finally, after many many hours/weeks/months of searching, tracked down my great grandfather a Samuel Dutson b1871 born in Manchester UK. He travelled to Canada from Glasgow and finally settled in California via Victoria, Vancouver, Seattle and Oregon. Along the way he married an Ella Byrn who died in 1943. There are discrepancies with his age on some of the records and he took on the name Thomas but I believe it is the same person. Problem I have is that the last entry I find on him is the 1930 USA census for California. No death records or anything after this time. I am at a loss know where to go? Any ideas would be welcome.
