Yes work house records are available. Some are kept at the national archives and some are kept at the local record offices. My relative was the master of Berkhampsted workhouse so his service records were kept at Berkhampsted record office. These records went with them if they moved to another workhouse. Try contacting the record office where the workhouse was and ask them about the records. They make interesting reading if you get time to read them properly. Jane

Not sure if this will work but the address for all workhouse records that this chap has is: http://www.workhouses.org.uk/index.html?Dartford/Dartford.shtml sorry about the dartford bit, but could not remember the site only typed in dartford workhouse. that will take you there and then follow the HOME button in the left hand scroll bar. Hope it helps. Susan.

Some workhouse records were kept but others have been lost. I would try the local records office. Gary
