Oh yes Joy, the daughter of Louisa and William was my OH's Gt grandmother. Born Elizabeth, on her marriage certificate, name of bride Elizabeth Masters. Signed by Sarah Masters. she was always known as Sarah!!! she led me a dance ! Ann Glos

Thank you all for your interest. Sorry to disappear, had to have dinner and then watch the soaps!!! Thank you for the 1841 I guess that is she. Joy, yes Louisa married William Masters, i have the marriage certificate. i too found that Mary and wondered, but her marriage cert was in the name Louisa and in the 1861 she was Louisa. Unless the head of the house called her Mary of course they did sometimes change the names of their servants. Maybe that is the answer. thank you again. Dog with a Bone : There is an odd entry in the IGI for a Louisa Maria ARAM born 12 June 1831 baptised 15 Nov 1840 at St Luke, Chelsea, London to George ARAM and Elizabeth. Batch C067054.

Me again Unless there were a lot of ORAMS around there I guess this is her hiding under the name of Mary. The HIGGINS family did not have a daughter called Louisa so I don't see why the name change unless she had two given names. 1851 Ho107-1935 folio 90, F Street (Front Street I guess) Butleigh Alexander HIGGINS family (him a carpenter emp. 20 men Mary ORAM Servant U 20 House Servant SOM Butleigh Pubs open.

Is it possible she had a second name Mary? and was sometimes known as Mary? Hi, I have been searching all over for Louisa Oram born c 1830 Somerset (probably Butleigh). .............................. I have tried some variations such as Dram, Oran, Oren etc with no luck........................................... I have found who I think is her Mother Elizabeth Oram widow aged 51 in 1851 and I found her on 1851 but not 1841..................... Can anyone help please...............................................................................................
