Also, are you aware of RONEY PERSONNEL LTD COWLEY ROAD CAMBRIDGE

Kelly's Directory of Cambridgeshire, 1904 lists Alfred Henry Roney as a farmer at Tydd St Giles which is just up the road from Wisbech. The same in 1916.

The Cambridgeshire County Record Office holds this document which may interest you: T/E/AM/59 - date: 22nd October 1851 - reference to a letter from C P Roney of the Eastern Counties Railway Office, Bishopsgate, to the Clerk, demanding that the road barrier at Ely be removed; dated 14th March 1850. A copy of a wedding certificate would give you the father of the grooms details. You would then know his name and occupation and perhaps be able to find him in the census. Good luck Irene

Hi all, I'm trying to find some info on the Roney's of Cambridgeshire. My husband's Grandfather was Frank Roney b. 1908 in Wisbech, he married Gwendolen Strickson b.1911. We have no idea what Frank's fathers name was, though with a little research I believe he may have been Alfred Henry Roney b.1872 in Wisbech, Cambs. If it is him, he married Harriet Watson b.1876. My problem is, I'm not really sure how to go about finding if it is him for definite. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks Heidi
