war records on the archives ???

Found this entry in The London Gazette,dated 08 September 1914. The undermentioned to be Second Lieutenants : — Dated llth September, 1914. Edward Nugent Meredyth Martin, late Second Lieutenant, 5th (Royal Irish) Lancers. Any connection?

You could see if he is on British Origins. I found my grandfathers military records there. It cost me £10 to get a copy of them but it was a goldmine of information.

Hi Linda, You need to look through the burnt documents at Kew. If you can't get there yourself, you could post a request on the Records board to see if someone is going there who could do it for you. Janice

Hi i know not all war records are on the national archives list but how do i find out which ones are. I have the medal card for edward nugent 8895 roual dublin fusiliers 1st battalion. he died in belguim 29/9/1918. how do i find out if his records survived. i find the archives site quite confusing. i presume if they survived i would have to apply to kew for them. can i do this by post? linda
