Does anyone know where I can get/download a free ft chart that I can type information onto? It's for a present and I've saved the one from this site but can't type onto it. I've tried it from another site but the same thing happens (or doesn't!) As it's for a gift, I want to have all the info typed in neatly. Any help gratefully received. Thanks in advance. I'll tune in tomorrow, so anyone on the night shift can advise. Kind regards Patricia

I can't imagine that any chart you can type onto would be big enough for a family tree. If you mean that you can type on the computer and then print out, you will be restricted by the size of paper your printer can handle, as I don't suppose you want to have to start sticking bits of paper together if it's for a present. I would suggest that you either buy a preprinted chart to fill in by hand or have a tree professionally printed by this site (they do both):- www.genealogyprinters(.)com remove brackets. Ron, who owns the site is a member of GR and will help with what you want on the tree. Kath. x

http://genealogy(.)about(.)com/library/free_charts/bl_family_tree.htm Remove the brackets. Not sure if this is the type of thing you are interested in. When I tried this a couple of years ago you could save the image in Acrobat Adobe - type on it and then print it out - BUT you could not save it with the typed information. Maureen

There is one that I can type on and have done so for many family members. It is on my pc in Miscrosoft Work Tasks Launcher then go to My Projects organizer and you will find the family tree there. Good luck Irene

Hi Patricia, Try with http://www.misbach.org/pdfcharts/pedigree_chart.pdf It is good for me to use it because my handwriting is messy! Cheers, Steven.

Many thanks to all of you for your replies. The chart I'm doing is only for four generations, so should print out okay. My handwriting isn't too tidy, either! that's why I want to do it this way. Kind regards Patricia

What you need is a decent tree program such as FTM. This has the facility for printing out your tree and customising the print so that it looks quite professional.
