Hi Folks, I am doing my husbands family tree and would appreciate some help to get me further than I have. His mothers name was Annie Hayes (formerley Firman), she was born in 1912 and died in 1992. Her fathers name was William George Firman, he was born about 1873. On her birh certificate it states she was born in a van on the racecourse in Elvet Durham and that her fathers occupation was a Travelling Showman, not sure whether circus or fairground. I saw a photograph of her father a long time ago and he was wearing his chains of office. Annies mother was called Elizabeth Ann Robson 1876 -1926. I have tried a number of gypsy/travelling sites but havent had any success. If anyone can help it would be great. Thanks everso much. Christine
