Did you know that there are a number of old Australian newspapers which can now be accessed via the internet? Yes, you can read them on your computer screen or download them and print them out! So where do you find them??? You can find them on the web-site of the National Library of Australia at http://www.nla.gov.au The Australian Periodical Publications 1840-1845 is basically a digital library of Australian journals that began publication between 1840-1845, and aims to preserve these publications and also ensure that they are accessible. Thanks Paul. Very interesting. O.H's GGGGGrandfathbner was transported for life in 1803. They made a settlement in Australia but it was unsustainable so they moved to Tasmania. There are a couple of books about it, and I believe a TV series which I am still trying to get hold of . Will have a good look through the site Linda |
