Karen I contacted the village school for info about my grandfather and his siblings. They were really helpful and allowed me to visit and view the old records. They also offered to photocopy any I was interested in. There was lots of interesting info, showing records of attendance and reasons for absence - it was fascinating to read. I would write to the Head teacher, definitely worth a try. Good luck Frances

My daughter's school has just had their centenary, amazing all the stuff that was archived, photos, reports, registers etc. As Pete says, ask the local education dept.

If you know the name of the school and the town it is possible that the records have been lodged at a local archive. Have you googled? Checked the A2A website? The GENUKI webpages hold details of archives (by county) and this should give you a starting point. You could contact the relevant archives and ask if they have any records for the school. The county education department may also be able to tell you if they have lodged old records somewhere.

hi all, does anyone know where i can or if i can obtain my mothers school records or if she would have had any school photo's taken whilst she was at school.
