Help! Translation of a line in Parish register

As this was a comment at the side of the name, what was the name? Perhaps that would give a clue.

Eric, don't know if this confuses things further. Axos is a town in Crete named after King Oaxos (son of Apollo). M. Steer

Hi Thanks to all for your replies. The phrase is taken from discs purchased from the Cambridges Family History Society. I suppose it would be better if I could see the originals for myself and see if my transcription would be the same. I would think that the originals would be in the Cambridge Library which is a far distance from where I live in Merseyside. Perhaps I should send them a message and see what they can do. I the mean time please keep sending me any thought you may have on the subject. Regards to all Ericx

Hi Eric Do you have a photocopy of the entry that you could send to some of us so that we could have a look for ourselves? I think it more likely to be Latin than Welsh.What year was the entry? Maureen

Doesn't make lot of sense but when I attempt to translate (GOOGLE!) first phrase coming up 'In fear I go Duyeiv' second phrase translates even less 'he aXos he drives Lyaen'. Maybe not Welsh? Sue
