Hi Granny, you will get the names and ages of all his children even the ones that pre-deceased him, his wifes name where he died, what he died of. The certificates are available from the N.S.W.bdm they are full of information.Have copied the following for you. A NSW Standard Death Certificate is an official certified copy of the registration data relating to an event held by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages. If you require a Death Certificate for a death that occurred 30 years ago or more, this is classified as a Family History Death Certificate. If the death occurred in another state or territory of Australia, please contact the relevant Registry Office within that state or territory. The Registry will only be able to produce a Death Certificate if the death has been registered. This means that the details of the death must have been lodged and recorded by the NSW Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages. Funeral directors are usually responsible for registering the death within seven days of the burial or cremation. Before completing a Death Certificate application form you need to first check if you can apply for it. All Death Certificate applications must be accompanied by at least three forms of identification. This ensures your privacy is maintained and that information is only released to those who are entitled to it.

I would like a copy of my grandfathers death cert.He died in Picnic Point in Sydney.His name was Sidney Hedges and he died 3rd november 1971.Can someone tell me what information would be on the cert and how i would go about ordering it.Thanks Annie
