Hi I've printed off an application form to order a birth cert. from GRO Roscommon but it wants to know exact DOB and mother's name, both of which I don't know, (that's why I'm ordering it!) - anyway the question is: will they still send it or am I just going to waste money by ordering it without those details? Thanks, Mary

Look on their website, or give them a ring. We ordered a cert and knew the year but nothing else, and it came ok. good luck

From my own experience the service from GRO in Roscommon is nothing short of excellent. I didn't have an exact date of birth for my grandfather, but they found it okay. £13.88 for two certificates which were received in less than two weeks gets a gold star from me. Andrew
