Hi, Has anyone ever used familyhistoryonline.net? Is it worth paying for? I'm trying to find any poorlaw records on an Edward Clayton (21/01/1829) born to an ANN CLAYTON (servant) in Wellington. There's nothing at the Wellington Poorhouse where he was born nor at staffordshire/Shropshire archives on him. But I have reason to believe that 'home' may have been Yorkshire. Is it worth it?? I generally keep a few units there because I've found it useful for burials. I don't think it has any poor law records, though. You can see the databases it uses here: http://www.familyhistoryonline.net/database/index.shtml You can search the site without paying (you have to register, but it's free), but if you want to view a record you have to pay. However, it only costs a few pence to view each record.

I have found this a great site & £5 does go a long way when it only costs about 6p a go! Mind you it does run out after 6 months!

Have a google first Rebecca in case you find anything on line. I have found a brilliant site for Sussex poor Law records - online, all the details and free.

Going back to the original question. I would say it is worth the £5 fee especially as your credits last for 6 months. You should check out the databases and see if what they have is of interest to you, as some counties have more records than others.
