It's a bit odd - I found an old thread of mine, and it showed all the posts as being made by me - my name came up against posts which were definitely made by other people.

At least one of them was signed Nell. Maybe where people are no longer members, it automatically inserts the name of the thread starter?

It's really stupid.

Is there a problem with this? You can now see all threads that you have previously been involved with.

If you get too many results limit your search a bit. Anyone who uses Ancestry on a regular basis will be familiar with search facilities like this, and know what to do.

Peter, it's not a problem that you can see old threads, in fact I'm pleased about it, because I've found one that I needed and forgot to print out.

But it is a problem that my name's appearing as the author of posts that I've never made.

Can someone tell me how to find your own threads please?

Its ok, Ive gone to advanced and entered my name in the top thingy - but whats happened, they are all jumbled up from different boards and different dates - eek.

Oh the nice thing is I saw some really nice messages to me which Id missed previously when I wasnt here for a while - busy on the Family Tree Forum. Thanks for those people :)

Peter, I am constantly amazed by your tolerant nature with all matters GR.

Now Im going to try and change my name as they have put my surname on my posts which I really dont like. I thought they told me last time when someone accessed and changed my name on here that that couldnt happen and only I could change my board name????????

Heather, they seem to be showing the first name on your tree, which is usually the maiden name.

They've now added a Community Name box in your account section, where you can enter your board name.
