Well I have to admit - there are some improvements

The deletion of contacts being one - at last some sense about being able to do it in multiples. Also I like the little notes on contacts addition - Im useless at remembering who people are and its embarrassing when I cant place what Ive spoken to them about.

I dont have a tree on here any more - but have they sorted hot matches yet and give the name of the potential hotmatch rather than the tree holder?

And WOO HOO, look at this, you can paragraph the first message now!

But Ive also noticed there are a lot less people putting messages on here now - are lots of people concerned about the new layout.

Yes Heather we always welcome changes for the better!I would like to highlight the improvements made in regard to "My Tree Matches",whereby if you use the back button,it no longer takes you back to Page 1.I estimate this will save me on average one hour per week in research time.

Another good improvement (at least I don't think it was there before) is that you can now use wildcards in name searches.

E.g. searching for Mall* will bring up Mallet, Mallett, Mallott, etc.

However, like Ancestry, you must put at least three letters before the asterisk, which is a pity.

Update:

At least, that's how it works in theory. Every search I tried gave me a message saying it'd take too long, and to try a different search.

The "?" wildcard doesn't work at all.

One thing I dont like now is if you delete a posting - the box stays there with a note - deleted by poster or administrator.

I often nudge up and then delete the nudge so the thread doesnt get too cumbersome but now that wont work as there will be a message there when we delete.
