Yes, Peter you are right, but it's so frustrating, especially when I had ear-marked this weekend to get lots of research done...

Scathing email probably not a good idea, but with the hols nothing can happen til Tuesday at the earliest.

On the new site had lost all my hot matches and did report this on the little section they first had asking if there were any errors. This was about a week ago and yesterday found that all three pages were back.

My (belated) reply Peter is that everything's fine until I click on the 'View' box. I then getting a heading saying "Match(es) with 's tree" and then it's just an empty page. I reported it as suggested but they must be busy as two days later still no reply and still no HM's. My ignored HM are all still there though, which is the only way I know what the new set up looks like.

Maybe they won't reply to me...the e-mail I sent was rather scathing....

OK, but this was something that GR were working on last week. I had seen my visible HM pages double to 20 - they are now back at about 10 pages

I would say that a "New" flag doesn't necessarily mean that either of you have changed anything in your tree, just that the HM program has come across a new name match. Don't forget it only checks so many names (100, I think) each time to program runs.

nice thought, peter, but no. i've lost at least a page of good matches and probably twenty ignored ones.

i have another tree onsite for a one name study. that no longer shows as a hot match, but this identity now shows up as a new hot match with the ons - despite the fact that i haven't touched the tree.

I wish that was the reason, Peter, but it definitely isn't in my case.

16 pages of mostly genuine hot matches disappeared a few weeks ago.

It's now up to 4 pages, but most of the ones that were there before still haven't reappeared (I have someone with 60-odd matches, and they haven't turned up yet.

Phoenix,

Many people have seen (correctly) a reduction in the number of pages because there was a fault reported a couple of weeks ago after some people had seen a big jump in the number of pages.

Investigation showed that certain connections were reporting more than once, ie member Joe Bloggs was on page 1 with 5 matches and appeared again on page 7 with 2 matches. You now see him the once with 7 matches.

This could be the reason you have seen an apparent reduction in the last few days.

When you say you have empty pages, have you actually got any pages at all listed?

"Let Genes know - they should put it right. "

Sure.

I complained of this problem weeks ago. All they said was "You'll be pleased to hear that no-one else has reported this problem".

Yeah, delighted...

Thanks Kath, I've so far been lucky, none of their messing about has affected me, there has to be a first time I guess....

No, mine seem to be there.

Let Genes know - they should put it right. There are lots of glitches at the moment.

When I go to view my 'Hot Matches' there are just empty pages, when I know there should be lots of names there.

Is any one else having the same problem?
