Yes she had one son with the middle name of Christopher and one son called Christopher, and if the Glan is the correct one she had a brother called Christopher.

I know what you mean Kath about different surnames, I am beginning tro experience it.

Christopher is quite an unusual name for then - did any of her children have that name?

I have quite a few different spellings for some of my lot.

The worst are the Wethers (or Whethers, Weathers, Withers - take your pick), but they are all the same family, LOL.

Also have Kill's who are sometimes Rill or Kiel, or Kile - again all the same people.

That is the one I found today in the Liverpool Records, I did mean to say 1814. Would love to be able to say that she is mine but dont want to go down the wrong road. Just put Christopher Glan and Elisabeth in IGI as parents and it came up with two more children, Mary Ann and Christopher, both surname was GLANN, (2 'n's) so maybe I am getting a bit nearer.

I'd say that with the absence of any Louisa Glenns in the records that it is probably the right one. Spelling differed a lot in those days when a lot of people were illiterate and wouldn't know if someone had written a name down wrongly.

Hi

I have just spent two full days at Lancashire Record Office searching for a 4th great grandmother, searched nearly all the churches in Liverpool but only found one near possibility in the whole of Liverpool.

I was searching for a Louisa Glenn born about 1815 in Liverpool, but she was married in 1836 before the 1841 census, so no details of her parents. (Marriage was in Manchester Cathedral, but doesnt show fathers in church records).

The only one I found was a LOUISA GLAN, born 1815 parents Christopher and Elizabeth. No Louisa Glenns anywhere after searching from about 1806 to 1825. What does anyone think the chances are of it being the correct one, just spelt different, and can anyone advise of the best way of finding out one way or another. Any help would be appreciated pleeeease cos I am getting very disheartened at the moment.
