Hot Matches Query

Evening everyone,

I have just received my Hot Matches and was going through them when I noticed that on the right hand side of the page the box Allow Access to your Tree had all automatically been ticked for all of the matches.

This was for people who I have not been in contact with before, I thought it was my decision who to give access to, not Genes.

Is this something new, is everyones box now automatically ticked?

Thanks

Vanessa

ditto Vanessa. I have just noticed the same thing.

No it is a mistake. I'd tell GR about it if I were you, but n the meantime you can change it to stop the trees being viewed.

Does that mean I will have to go through all 24 pages of discarded hot matches!!!

Will just pour myself another glass of wine and make a start it could be a long night.

If you look at this thread it also mentions your problem.

I think you could be wasting your time trying to remove ticks now as they would only be back should you try to contact someone.

Unless you CONTACT someone and keep the tick in place, only then would that person see your tree.

Removing the tick before contacting someone means they won't be able to see it.

Personally I think genes should have it where you choose to check the box rather than it automatically being checked to give access. Some people might not be aware that they're giving someone access when asking a simple query.

As per the other tread on the subject.

No, they can't already view your tree., but if you send them a message with the box ticked, then they will be able to.

It has been like this for a little while now.

If you want to check who can and can't see your tree at any time, go to Messages, Contacts.
