	As previously mentioned the man in question was a reserve officer - during the period you are looking at the reserve's were mainly drawn from the pool of proffesional merchant seamen and from the fishing fleet.

Member Since: January 2004 Posts: 821 Send Message	I've just found who I think is a rellie on the 1871 Census. He is listed on board Her Majesty Reserve. Does anyone know a free website where I can find out anymore please. Linda
