Hi Loz

I am not sure that she is still alive......I can only guess at her age. All I know is that she was paid to care for my grandfathers 3 children, had an affair with him and became pregnant. He couldn't or wouldn't marry her so she left leaving the baby with him. According to the Salvation Army who eventually found her in the 1950's she was married with a family. My mother is almost 70 and would very much like to meet her half brother or sisters!! while she is still able .

Hi Fi

Sorry...her name is the only information that I have....she left Cornwall in 1938 and no one in the family has heard from her since.
I have tried the BMD register but so far haven't had any luck. I know that she was taking care of my Grandfathers children - But can only guess at her age.
Thanks anyway
Caroline

Are you searching for her whereabouts today?

If you have any idea as to her approximate age perhaps you could search for possible marriage/s? Any areas where she might have lived would help.

HI Caroline
your grandmother is to young to be on any accessable census the only way you might be able to find information on her is electorial rolls do you know her married name? any idea on where she lived at all start at these places and write to local newspapers requesting anyone with information to contact you i did this when searching for one of my great uncles and i got a reply which confirmed some information i'd been given so its worth a go.
good luck
