It's such a farce.......this site is 'dead' nowadays. There can't possibly be 'traffic jams'....it's just a ploy to try to get gullible new members to look at the links to their subscription sites.........

I must admit that I have got used to the new look site now and quite like most of it.

I agree though that the "traffic Jam" notice is just a ploy to get customers to try GR's sister sites. There is absolutely no way there should be any traffic jams - as Reg says, the site is almost dead to what it used to be. If you click again straight away the "traffic jam" miraculously disappears.

I'd love to see a sign stating "Oh NO! Another site upgrade!" ;-)

I also keep getting that message, it is so annoying.

You can't say that the site is dead, just because of what you see on the messsage boards. I guess that less that 1 percent of members ever go near the message board.

Based on my own contacts, some 24pages worth, I only know of one who ever reads the boards, then only infrequently.

That may very well be so Peter, but both Reg and I remember when the message boards were awash with requests and very fast moving.

Four and a half years ago when I joined I could be on here all day every day (and I was) and you just couldn't keep up with the boards. In the time it took to do one look-up, that particular thread could be off the first page.

The site was quite different then with a much friendlier, happier feel before the trouble of last September, and anyone who doesn't come onto the message boards won't know anything about all that trouble and the change to the site since.

Never having received this message I was annoyed to receive it just now. Another annoying part of the update! All this does is distracts people away from the purpose of the site.

I do agree the boards seem to be slower than they used to be but I have know complaints about the upgrade, I find it easy to navigate and fingers crossed haven't come across any problems yet, Am I on my own thinking this?

I too have got used to the NEW look.
The only problem is that the text size is a bit too small and hurts my eyes after a while. I increase the size every time I visit but this distorts some of the words.
