Shirley
You are very good, but I imagine overwhelmed.
My ancestor William Nettleton had a daughter Ann Elizabeth Nettleton born about 1858, apparently from all the Census records in Alderney. William was in the Royal Artillery and doubtless was posted there.
I am trying to trace the mother who I believe was Ellen Gibbs. Ann Elizabeth's Birth certiificate or details may assist.By 1860 he was stationed in Gloucestershire.
Are such details available?
Are there local records about soldiers stationed there?
Any assistance or tips would be appreciated.
Thanks
John
