I have found a letter written to my dad shortly after his death 26 years ago. In this letter is asks if we are reated to a man which i have since researched and found that we are decendants of his brother. It also states that the this line has been traced back to the Pirates of Pentagoz (sp?) Does any of you know of a place with this name as i am at a total loss.

"The Pirates of Penzance" is a Gilbert & Sullivan operetta. The story is based in Penzance, Cornwall.

Could it actually mean that you're connected with the writers of the Pirates of Penzance? Might be some kind of joke that's not quite so funny when you look at it genealogically!

The letter was sent to my dad by a genealogist years ago. The lady who sent it has since passed away and is a submitter listed for the LDS. It doesnt actually say Penzance it says Pentagoz/Pentagaz/Pentagez.

I know its a long shot but im going to write to the address on the letter and hope that a family member still lives in the house or the new owners may have a forwarding address to pass it on.

Thanks for your help in my mystery
