Member Since: August 2006 Posts: 5 Send Message	Hi Carol, There is a Creswell very close to Notts, but actually classed as Derbyshire - must be right on the border. Do you know when Herbert was born? I've had a look on 1901 census and there's a Herbert Cutts, age 9 (which would be about right) born in Eckington, Derbyshire - if you check on a map it's right next to where Creswell is. This may be your grandfather's dad. Angi

	Have you looked on FreeBMD for his birth registration? Death certificates don't tell you where someone came from, only where they were living at the time of death. Sam x
