If anyone out there can help then please add any helpful tips or sites to this thread.

My friend is a new starter to tracing her family tree and although im fairly advanced she has jewish ancesters and i haven't so i'm affraid i cant be of much help to her as dont really know which sites are the best to look at. In much need of some help.

There are some specialist Jewish genealogy societies, and many have websites.

You can find a lot by googling.

If you put a search in - see left hand side margin - with the word Jewish - all threads that have dealt with the subject will come up and help.

Someone added a thread only this week on finding Jewish ancestors.

As I said previously, National Archives also have information and if you google - lots will come up.
