Linda they can contain almost anything. Maps, details of original land purchase and all owners. My deeds have a marriage certificate in. They won't all be the same but generally they are very interesting.

I am just starting to research the history of a house built in 1847.

Please could anyone tell me what would be on the original deeds to the house....ie the builder and the person who commissioned the build.
