Buy the marriage cert....it will tell you his declared age at the time.........plus the name and occupation of his father.

Christine there must be 50 William Holmes deaths in 1960, I have already checked :-(

Thats why I asked where he was from, to see if it can be narrowed down at all.

You need to buy his death or marriage certificate. They will tell you his age and therefore you can work out his approximate year of birth.

Where was he from? There are loads of William Holmes listed in the deaths for 1960. Who did he marry?

can any body help me .
I am trying to trace my grandfather William Holmes birth .
but i donot know when he was born.
all i no is that he was married 1913
died 1960.
how can i find him
