Member Since: July 2004 Posts: 143 Send Message	my grandmother bridget mary kinsella from kildare ireland married in london in 1917 is there anyway of finding how she came to england and when and with who i know this is a stab in the dark but i know nothing about her background she had a sister who came to live in manchester she remained in london and died in 1933

	Until 1921 Ireland was part of the U.K so travel from Kildare to London was not strictly speaking crossing any borders so doubt any passenger lists survive. They certainly do not for my Irish relatives making the same journey in the 1800's.

	As Richard says, passenger lists from Ireland don't exist as there was free passage between countries in the UK. If you want a look up from whilst she was in Ireland, I would change your title or original question. I take it she isn't on the 1901 census so would have arrived between 1901 and 1917. You can't even check electoral registers as women weren't entitled to vote in those days. Sam x
