Thanks so much Joan for taking time out to look for me. I reckon this is going to be another one that I will have to wait for the next census to see what it reaveals. lol

Hi Tracie
I found a John King age 33 born 1838, England who was an engineer, listed as head of a household in Simcoe North, Barrie, Ontario. Microfilm roll C9963.9 (Page 4) on the 1871 census, Canadian records are nothing like UK ones and not very helpful. There are no other names listed. I checked the Ontario births but found nothing as they started in 1869.

Hi Clare

Unfortunatly, all I know is Canada as that was what was on the 1881 Census.

Regards
Tracie.

Hi Tracie,
Where in Canada was Ann born?
My Grandfather was born in Newfoundland, Canada, I usually use www.ngb.chebucto.org, although this site does only cover Newfoundland.
Hope this helps
Clare

Ontario births are on Ancestry but they start in 1869.

Hi All

I am looking for the birth of an ancestor who was born in Canada around 1868. Her name was Ann Emily King, her parents were John Andrew Merryweather King and Sarah Eliza Brown.

Her father was a soldier I think as they seemed to move around a bit, Ann was born in Canada, but her siblings were born in Ireland and Kent, London.

Thanks in advance with fingers and toes crossed... lol

Tracie.
