I have a Mary Gillson in my family tree but have only got her year of birth and where she was born

B. 1841 in Drighlington

Or there is a John Miller in 1882 and a Mary Ann Gilson together - going on this quote from Julie my Mary would have been 41 when she married, seems abit late for the year but you never know.

If you need more details from my tree let me know and I will endevour to supply

Regards

Sam

Julie sorry , keep swapping between Ancestry and here . Haven,t bought any certs yet as need to be absolutely sure . Have sat back an had a think . Her first son David was born in 1873 , Aberystruth Monmouthshire . I,m going to check the marrages again from1870 to 1874 , in England and Wales . If I can find a marrage it might tell me at least in which country she was living in for the 1861 and 71 census . Sorry to be a pain , but it,s really helping to talk through a plan of action with you . Kim

Sorry , have been checking marriage . Have no parents names . Marrage entry 1871 is in Bedwelty Monmouthshire to James Chulson 11a 132 . Children are called Gelson , Jilson and jelson in the census returns ! Gail think you may have the right one going by her marriage in Wales , also , long shot but she called 2 of her children William and Elizabeth . Thanks Danielle will try following your suggestion too. This woman is a nightmare !!! LOL Kim

Have you actually bought any certificates yet?
The only marriage for 1871 for a James Read Gilson shows the name of Mary Ann Quinton on the same page.
Also 1882 marriage there is an Edward Miller with a Mary Ann Borden and a Mary Ann Summerfield on the same page. Or there is a John Miller in 1882 and a Mary Ann Gilson together.

Where have you got your info from?

Julie

Hi,

Sorry didn't read original post properly.
Could she still be living in England in Staffordshire in 1861?
If so then the 3 possibilities above could be her.

All the best
Danielle xx

My G.Grandmother Mary Ann Miller , maiden name Goodwin is entered on the 1901 census for Aberystruth Monmouthshire, as being born in " NC Rowley Church Staffordshire " ? DOB circa 1854. In 1871 she married James Gilson, in 1881 she is living in Aberystruth Monmouthshire . In 1882 she married my G.Grandad Edward John Miller .She had 11 children in all. I,m trying to work backwards with her but have come to a dead halt with the 1861 census . Could someone please have a look for her ???? Thanks Kim
