I heard recently that often in Ireland people have their children baptised in both Catholic and Protestant churches - Belt and Braces!
But if the mother's maiden name is included in the RC registers it might be worth a look in both!

I treated myself to a pressie of various church parish registers for Birmingham, not all complete though i must add, and there is St Chads RC Baptisms, 1807 to 1837. marriages and Burials, but what surprised me most is the mothers maiden name is often listed on the Baptism records, and also who sponsored them. If only all baptism records had the mothers maiden name wouldn't our research be much easier.
Researching is so full of little surprises.
I wonder if all catholic baptisms are the same
