Hi Lynda

Know what you mean about needing specs as well as a huge magnifying glass for reading the medal cards. On my Grandad's card, across the top it gives his name, corps, rank and regimental number. Down the left hand side is the entitlement for medals, which in my Grandad's case shows that he was awarded all three war medals with a 15 in front of the word Star to show that he was awarded the 1915 Star. It also shows the roll number that the entitlement is noted on (I think). At the bottom left are columns for where and when your relation first entered the theatre of war and on the right is a remarks column.

Hope this helps a bit so that you can understand some of the information on the card.

Regards, Marion
