There is a death of a John Stapleton........not in the same reg'n district, so possibly not relevant

It could be that this was his father.......and the 'spare' female on the 1841 census posting is the widow/mother of Robert.

Would need to be checked out..............as it is all supposition on my part.

It is equally feasible that Robert's mother was unmarried, and 'John' was a face-saver on the marriage cert............

hi everyone,would anybody be so kind living in or near oakham,greetham be able to look up a babtism for me,its for a robert stapleton born 1839-1840 on his marriage certificate it states his father as john occupation a baker.this person"s birth is proving to be very elusive.thanks again regards ruth
