Can anyone help with tribalpages query?

I love tribalpages and spend many a happy hour fiddling with photos and scans and recording info on those "floaters" who don't quite fit into my tree - yet.

One thing is driving me demented though - as with many families mine were obviously not cursed with much imagination when it came to naming their children!! I am running out of fingers to count the number of Williams, Charles, Elizabeths etc,.

I've found it quite useful that TP lists each person with their birthdate until I come to upload my gedcom onto here - it puts the birthdate into the surname field and I get hundreds of hotmails just on first name and date.

Does anyone know if there is anything I can do about it or am I condemned to editing my tree on here so it makes sense.

Many thanks

Maria

Thanks Titus.

LDS - is that the familysearch site?

Will I have to enter all the data again?

Best wishes

My Gr tree is a mess because of TP. The trouble is that so is my PAF because I uploaded my TP tree to that.
It has the photo codes in my notes and my notes are shortened.
Having said that. The old tree on GR used to be able to sort out the TP one.
The new one can't.

Tribal Pages show people,of the same name by adding their d.o.b, Example is John Smith son of John Smith can be shown as John Smith 1880 and John Smith 1905. This does help a lot rather then adding Snr or Jnr to their names for if later you find that the next generation father born in 1850 is also John Smith or another John Smith is found as an juncle etc., then you will find that you have to redesignate each one - best to leave TP to record each one with the d.o.b.

Thanks Titus, for the information!
I think I understand why LDS have an interest in geneology but I didn't think it would merit deletion!
