Kaz,

I notice he was born in Bolougne, as a British subject. He may have popped back for the day.... on a "booze cruise" ;-)

Seriously though, he may have had relatives that he went to see.

Lynn thanks for your time and effort.

Ive had a mess around with the names and cant seem to match them even with mis-transcibes.

His wife was Mary Ann.
I know sometimes its transcribed different but they dont match.

Oh how I wish it did.

I think hes sittin their laughing at me, saying ok so you got me as Fred and you got me as Laconde and La Ronde, bet you cant guess who I am now.

Pesky ancestors

Thanks Lynne,

That was really turning round my head. Thinking the wife stuck to the rules.
But wouldnt the employer of night shift workers hold a census, knowing that the census returns mean being in that place that night.

So anyone who works nights wont exist.

Thats so sad.

(For me and anyone with night workers in their tree)

Ok, calling all detectives.

Francis larondie (Frank lacondie, Fred La Ronde) found in census except 1871.

I have his family in all of them from 61 to 1901.

He is listed in all as a tailor, his daughters marriage cert he is a tailor.

In 1871 census his wife is with the children and she is listed as "Porters wife".

This is in Kentish Town. Their are a few families with Railway connections on the page.

Where would he be? And why isnt he listed anywere with various spellings of first and sur names.

Thanks for any help.
