Easter Betty??

I've been looking for a marriage quite a while now for Thomas Steel b1789 Sutton Nottinghamshire I know from census he married Betty b1789 Mossley Dukinfield Lancs... the only marriage around 1810 is Thomas Steel to Easter Todd ..Does anyone know if Betty can be short for Easter?? Pamx

Is that the same as Esther? I always thought Betty short for Elizabeth.

Hmm? .... Easter - Esther - Hester - Hetty .....
Could the Betty be a mistranscription for Hetty?

Me too Anna was just graspin straws i think....
this is the marriage index and it sure says Easter?
