Hi Julie,

You order online from here:-

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

The certificate will cost £7.

When you fill in the online form, just give the information given above on the main page (don't put her father's name on this page). Make sure when it asks "Is the full GRO Reference known" that you tick the "yes" box otherwise it costs more.

At the bottom of the main page there is a box to click for "reference checking". Click this and enter her father's name on the page that comes up.

That way if the father's name doesn't match and it isn't your Amelia, they will just keep £3 of your money for the search and refund you £4.

Yes I got her fathers name on her birth cert. Where would I order from as I only usually have Scottish certs.
Thanks

Do you know Amelia's father's name?

If so, the only thing you could do would be to order the marriage certificate and give her father's name as a checking point, so they only supply the certificate if the father's name matches what you give.

Hi Mary/Kath

On her birth cert she has no middle name. But I know she had an illigitemate daughter in 1925 before she left Scotland called Marjorie.
I know I am clutching at straws but maybe her middle name could of ben Marjorie.
By the way the daughter was brought up by family in Scotland.
The daughter is still alive but unfortunately not to with it anymore.

Sorry, forgot to say - I checked the December 1925 quarter on Findmypast because it's missing on Ancestry, nothing on it though.

Do you know if she had a middle name?

There is a marriage of Amelia M. Kerr to someone called Wheeler in Lambeth in 1927, but it could be someone completely different.

The December qtr. of 1925 is missing from Ancestry so I couldn't check that quarter.

Hi Julie

I looked for a marriage 1923 - 1927, only one for an Amelia N (or M) Kerr to Wheeler is in Lambeth 1927 Q3 1d 765
so probably not correct, sorry.

Hi
Was wondering if anyone could help find my missing relative.
I have asked before and people have been very helpful, but to know avail, probably due to vague information from me. But I would like to try again. I cannot look myself as all of my research is for Scotland and I dont have Ancestry.
I would like to find a death or possible marriage for this person. Family rumour says she went to live in Newmarket around 1925 (she was born 1901 in Moray Scotland ) I have searched scotlands records and cant find anything.
Name : Amelia Kerr

I was told she went away with a man called Groom, but there is know factual evidence for that.
Thanks
Julie
